FACET LEVERAGED OUR EXTENSIVE KNOWLEDGE IN AVIATION FUEL FILTRATION AND EXHAUSTIVE FIELD TESTING TO PRECISELY ENGINEER THE NEEDS OF THE NEW FACILITIES AT THE DUBLIN AIRPORT.
BACKGROUND
When Dublin Airport determined there was a need to increase capacity and improve infrastructure to better service travelers, the company took initiative and awarded the aviation fueling and distribution infrastructure to the airport operator.
This important terminal remodeling project included expanding the capacity of the existing plant and constructing a new hydrant system.
THE CHALLENGE
The final customer and the EPC in charge of the project wanted to be 100% sure that the fuel quality parameters comply the stringent EI specifications.
THE SOLUTION
Facet’s technical team partners with the project team and advised customer on the principal filtration stages required for the compliance of EI standards (EI 1530, EI 1550, etc.).
In addition, Facet partnered with the customer to relocate existing filtration units in other Dublin airports, studying and identifying the necessary modifications with regards to the flow rates, instrumentation, spares, etc.
As a result of the study along with the field tests, the following equipment was specifically designed, manufactured and installed:
THE RESULTS
Due to Facet’s team having extensive experience and technical knowledge of how to properly engineer and service airport fueling facilities, we were able to partner together with the EPC and end users to meet all requirements and complete the project successfully.
After the installation of the Facet vessels and cartridges, the quality of the fuel at the Dublin Airport is guaranteed to meet EI standards; from reception to the supply into plane.
